Whether you are moving across Canada or into the United States, LDM Toronto handles the job from the first call through delivery at your new address. We take care of the customs paperwork too when your move crosses the border.
LDM Toronto started because of an observation: people in the Greater Toronto Area had a hard time finding long distance movers Toronto that would be honest about their pricing and process. In 2020, Ted Michaud wanted to correct that. To do that, he built a business model where the company would own every part of the operation (the trucks, the crew, and the quote) rather than farming work out to a contractor network where accountability can become difficult to maintain when something goes wrong. Six years later, LDM Toronto still operates with this same model.

LDM Toronto is Toronto’s cross-province and cross-border moving expert and only provides long-distance moving services.

Your belongings are our priority. We take care of packing, wrapping, padding and securing all of your items so there is no chance of them breaking while being moved. Whether that is everyday dishes or an antique chest of drawers, we will pack all of your items before loading them onto our trucks.

We are happy to accommodate all of your scheduling needs. From condo elevators to specific delivery times at your new destination, we will work with you to ensure that your actual moving day goes as planned.

LDM Toronto prides itself on having well-coordinated personnel throughout the moving process, from the loader who loads your truck to the moving coordinator who manages your move. All of our employees treat you and your belongings with the same care that they would want their own items to be treated with.

Whether your destination is Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax, or anywhere else in Canada, we’ll have the experience and equipment to meet your requirements. We’ll take care of the planning, packing options, logistics, etc. It will all be handled for you.

The most important part of a successful move out of Canada is knowing what you need to bring with you and what the rules for crossing through Canada/US Customs are. At LDM Toronto we will provide all of the necessary documentation and guide you through every step of the moving process, ensuring that nothing will be delayed at the border or customs.

Office relocations require a precise level of detail and planning; doing it on the fly is likely to cost your business dearly and will lead to a lot of downtime. Our team will manage the logistics so that you experience as little down-time as possible to allow for you and your employees to return to business quickly.

Relocating your entire home isn’t an easy job, but our professional movers can easily handle the heavy lifting and handling of all of your fragile items while you concentrate on getting settled into your new residence.

Whether you’re looking for complete assistance with packing or would like a do-it-yourself approach, we have options to meet your needs. All of our full-service packing options include high-quality boxes and moving blankets.

We’re able to provide storage both during and after your move. All of our climate-controlled storage options are available for both short-term and long-term needs.
Moving long distance takes quite a bit of planning, and the hardest part of the process should not be finding a reputable company.
After you provide us with your information, we will develop a moving plan that meets your schedule, location, and budget. We’re also available to answer any questions throughout the entire moving process.

“I started LDM Toronto because people in this city deserve a long-distance moving company they can actually count on. Toronto has its own moving challenges that most companies don’t plan for: condo elevator windows that give you three hours and won’t budge, downtown loading zones that need permits booked in advance, the 401 on a Friday afternoon when you’re already behind schedule. If you don’t know this city, you’re behind before the truck is even loaded. Six years later, we still run every move with that in mind.”

It all begins with your request for a free estimate. That’s when our staff will take care of all your needs from beginning to end.
You fill out the free estimate form and provide us with the following information: your pick-up address, destination address, size of home and moving date. The more information we have, the closer our estimate will be to your final cost.
One of our moving coordinators will contact you to discuss the particulars of your move. This will include items of special concern to you, how to access both locations, packing, etc., so we can eliminate surprises at the time of your move.
You will receive a written quote for your move, covering everything we discussed, no hidden fees, no adjustments on the day of your move. The amount we quoted you will be your final cost for your move.
On moving day our crew arrives on time, fully stocked and ready to go. Once we arrive we will complete the packing (if needed), loading, transporting, delivery, and keep you updated throughout the entire course of your relocation process.
After all your items have been delivered we will complete a final walk through with you to verify that everything arrived in as good a condition as when we packed your items, if not, we want to know ASAP!
The earlier the better, honestly. Four to six weeks in advance is ideal, especially if you’re moving in summer or at the end of a month — those dates fill up fast. That said, if you’re in a pinch, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
Yes! We offer full packing, fragile-only packing, and a materials-only option if you’d rather handle packing yourself. Just let us know what you need and we’ll include it in your quote.
Your written quote covers everything we’ve discussed — the move, any packing services, and any special requirements. We don’t add fuel surcharges or extra fees after the fact. What we quote is what you pay.
We use professional moving blankets, stretch wrap, and floor runners on every job. Fragile items get extra attention — we’d rather spend a few extra minutes wrapping something properly than deal with a damage claim at the end.
Yes. Things don’t always go according to plan, and we get that. We have short-term and long-term storage options available. Your coordinator can walk you through what’s available when you book.
